Long-fiber mulberry silk, grade 6A

Mulberry silk is one of the most prized silks for sleep and self-care accessories. At SOIELA, we favor long-fiber silk of grade 6A, selected for its regularity, softness, and naturally smooth appearance.

Thanks to its delicate surface, mulberry silk helps limit friction during the night. It is particularly suitable for hair and skin care routines, especially for dry, curly, textured, colored, or fragile hair.

22 momme and 19 momme: two densities adapted for every use

Momme is a unit used to measure silk density. The higher the momme count, the denser, more enveloping, and more durable the material is over time.

At SOIELA, our silk pillowcases and sleep caps are made from 22 momme silk. This density offers a thicker and more durable material, ideal for regular nightly use in contact with skin and hair.

Our lighter accessories, such as sleep masks and silk scrunchies, are crafted from 19 momme silk. This density results in a soft, flexible, and comfortable material for everyday wear.

Why choose SOIELA silk?

SOIELA prioritizes long-fiber mulberry silk, grade 6A, to offer accessories that are both soft, elegant, and suitable for daily use. Unlike synthetic satin, which refers to a type of weave often made from polyester, silk is a natural fiber.

Compared to cotton, silk offers a smoother surface, which further limits friction on hair and skin during sleep. It is particularly appreciated in nighttime beauty routines because it accompanies the natural movement of the face and hair without a rough sensation.

We also choose different densities depending on the use: 22 momme for the most frequently used night products, such as pillowcases and bonnets, and 19 momme for delicate accessories, such as sleep masks and scrunchies.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Certification

SOIELA textile articles are certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, certificate no. 21.HCN.83824, Product class II. This certification indicates that the articles concerned have been tested for harmful substances according to a recognized standard.

This requirement does not only concern the main fabric. Depending on the scope of the certificate, it may also take into account components related to the finished product, such as threads, dyes, finishes, elastic bands, and textile labels.
